I decided to do Absolutely Fabulous over The Young Ones as I felt that I connected more with that sitcom. I wanted to set it in the 1970s because I was inspired when watching the episode by one of the costumes that Edina wore that was quite 70s esc. I also wanted to set it in California as it was and still is quite an alternative place and I think it would suit aspects of Edina's personality such as her need for a someone to tell her her channel colour for the day.
I was inspired by this house I found in California which was like a 70s time portal. I was inspired by the thick shag carpets, spiral staircase and open plan. I do not know how authentic this house is but I have done further research to back up the aspects I am inspired by for my design.

This is the kitchen mood board I did. The main aspects I wanted to take from these images was the use of wood, the patterns, the geometric lights and lastly the use of indoor plants. I want to use all these aspects in my design.

This was the mood board I did for the office space. A recurring theme I saw was the use of wooden panelling and everything appearing beige. As Edina is not a beige person, I did not want her office to be. So I manage to find some image reference with colours, specifically reds, pinks and oranges. As a result, I decided I wanted to incorporate these colours. I also wanted to incorporate bean bags as they were a very 70s thing but I also I thought were quite alternate and could create comedy when they come back to the office drunk.

Lastly, this id the mood board for the bedroom. The main aspects I want to take from this is the use of symmetry and overwhelming pattern and of course plants.
