Having never done a studio plan before, I did not really know where to start. So this is the method I used, even though now looking back on it I see that there probably was a quicker and more efficient way.
Firstly, I traced the outline of my paper model onto the A1 version of my plan. This was effective as it was accurate but did also show some flaws in my model (angle and measurement wise). Then refined these outlines and copied them onto a smaller version of my plan (A4) so that I would be able to easily scan it in. At the time I was unaware if the fact that there was a A1 scanner in the studio and next time I would take advantage of this. I know my design was not very complex from a studio plan perspective but I very much valued this exercise as now at least I understand how to go about and hopefully can next time try and tackle a more complex design efficiently.
