Strengths:
· I think our concept was one of our strengths as a group as it was clear throughout our designs, making our collective boxes more cohesive. We also tried to incorporate multiple aspects of the brief such as links to the Nutcracker, Victorian era, and toy theatres. · Another aspect of this project that I believe was one of our strengths was the exterior of our boxes. Through using a border to finish the edges as well as the wrapping paper to unite the boxes but also show the themes of each box, I think it allowed our boxes to look more finished and therefore professional. · As a cohesive team, I think we worked particularly well, especially when discussing ideas and organising a timeline to do work. I also believe that the work was evenly distributed, no person did more work than any other. · Lastly, I think that our use of visual representation in the PowerPoint was very effective. We took photos throughout the making process and had multiple mood boards to show research and development. The extent of which we documented our developed allowed for a clearer understanding.
Improvements:
· I think for me personally I would have liked to have done more development within my box design. The time restriction panicked me which led to me thinking I needed to start making as soon as possible; however, we did complete the making of the boxes earlier than expected so in retrospect I could have spent more time developing the design. · I believe I also could have spent more time testing materials. Upon reflection, I think that the use of water colours was not in contrast as effective as the more solid colours with the fairy lights used by my peers. · Lastly, I think we could have tried to be creative with using different materials and resources. We partly chose the resources we did due to the lockdown. It would have been nice to try and expand this under different circumstances.
