When initially approaching this project, I looked into how I could further explore my theme of the land of sweets within my box. I researched various Victorian sweets as well as colour schemes surrounding the character the Sugar Plum Fairy. I created a mood board to visually show some of my findings.
When looking into Victorian sweets, I was most surprised by the variety of sweets available during this era. This was because of the price of sugar had lowered allowing for more exploration and tasty treats to be invented. I also wanted to explore the different textures surrounding the colour "Sugar Plum" such as actual sugar plums, plants and netting in costumes.
I found this mood board a useful reference point throughout this project and it rooted me in my original intention and inspired my choice in colour schemes.
