Using my mood board, I then went on to develop some of my ideas such as the idea involving a dolls house which can be seen in the top left-hand corner.
I tried stretching out the dolls house but then embellishing it in a rococo style and having it quite skeletal instead. However I preferred the shoe silhouette idea because so decided to pursue that instead.
My next the idea was having a birdcage and covered in a wig with the ship on it. I thought it could be used to revealing the item for the week by spinning it round to show the given collectible for the week. I liked this idea so much that I then continued to combine it with some of my shoe idea.

So to further explore my shoe idea I made a little paper model. This really helped me as it allowed me to experiment with the shape. I made duplicates and then arranged them in different manners. Having decided that I like the arrangement of having them vertical and overlapping, I then tried hollowing the shape out to allow for layering. Originally the design only used 2 shoes, but I really wanted to add more so I added two side bits of the shoe also joining to create a long go design. The symmetry of this centre piece also added authenticity as discussed earlier, the Georgians loved symmetry.
I decided to try out the different backgrounds to have. Originally I went for huge sweeping curtain draped design but it looked far too theatrical for the piece and did not look very Georgian as a result (I found this out in a group crit). So back to the drawing board and looked at some more drapes from the time to see what was more Georgian-esque. I found that a lot of them tended to have valances, trimmings and tie backs which allowed the design to look more period appropriate so I added these to my design.
I then used SketchUp to bring it to life.

I built the model and using SketchUp up which was a very new software for me. I did found it very useful in the developmental stages as it was really easy to change colour schemes and play around with that. However, the colours that were quite limited because you could only choose colours that were pre set on the software. Whereas on photoshop you can choose very specific colours and you can find one you want.
I went to try and decide a colour for the drapes. My favourites were the yellow and teal. in the end I decided to go for the yellow as I thought it was the most Georgian and that the to modern.
