SketchUp Session 3

In the final session we really were able to combine all the skills we done so far in order to make a throne. I really enjoyed the session as it really cemented the ideas that we'd already learned within the other sessions and also allowed us to focus on an overall goal. It also enlightened me to the fact that you can make furniture on SketchUp and not just add the furniture from the shop available on the software.

Also within this session I really got to know how to use the follow me tool a lot better and it felt comfortable and exciting using it in combination with the push and pull tool as it allowed for variety with in the design. When filling my design, I decided to use a glass texture as I wanted it to be almost see-through to allow the complexity to shine through as well as wanting it to have some resemblance to the White Witch's ice throne.

As well as come binding all the skills, we also learnt how to capture using the camera on SketchUp which allowed us to record different angles of our given design. This was really useful as I think it could be particularly good when trying to explore television/ film sets potential shots. Previously in other assignments when cresting physical models we used cameras to navigate around to try discover potential shots but through doing it digitally it just gives another dimension I think it is a really exciting and refreshing way to do it. I really enjoyed learning how to use SketchUp I think in future projects I will try and use the software.
